Obituary of John Grebenc

GREBENC, John Peacefully with his family by his side on May 24, 2012 at the age of 89 years, at Hospice Residential. John was born in Slovenia and lived in Argentina for 15 years prior to coming to Canada in 1964. Beloved husband of Maria, with whom he celebrated 64 years of marriage. He was the loving father of Mary (late Wylie) Slack; Ann (Joe) Rocnik; John (Fran) Grebenc, and Joe Grebenc. Loving Stari Ata of Mike (Brenda) Rocnik; Tina (Tom) Gelinas; Josie Rocnik, Ryan and Kristen Grebenc, and great Stari Ata of Jack, Kate and Lucy Gelinas. Pre-deceased by parents Jozef and Marija Grebenc and Siblings Paula, Francka, Ana, Marija, and Filip. Survived by brothers France and Stanko, and sister Angela. He will be sadly missed by his nieces and nephews and extended family in Canada, Slovenia, Argentina and the U.S.A. John was a cabinet maker with Trend Millwork and retired at the age of 65. He enjoyed spending quality time with family and friends and tinkering on home improvement projects. Many thanks go to Dr. A. The family will receive friends at St. Vincent de Paul Church (2015 Balfour at Empress) on Monday May 28, 2012 for visitation from 10:00 am until time of Funeral Mass at 11:00 am.
