Obituary of Lorenz Thier

THIER, Lawrence (Lorenz)(Larry) Feb. 22, 1931 " May 15, 2012 Welcomed into God"s loving arms on May 15, 2012 at the age of 81. Most cherished husband to Anne with whom he celebrated 54 years of a wonderful marriage. Predeceased by his parents Anton and Elizabeth Thier, his sister Katherina (John) Schlosser, and his brothers George and Jacob Thier. Loving father to Tina and Guy Hewson, and David and Trixi Thier. Beloved Opa to Kristie Nantais, Matthew and Kristina Thier, Dustin Hewson (Rachelle) and Daniel Hewson (Lindsay). Great Opa to Shayn and Caleb Nantais. Dear brother-in-law to Katherine and Joe Gossmann. A much loved uncle to many nieces and nephews and a special cousin to Erna and Steve Mustac. Dear Godfather to Frank and late John Geier, Walter Gossmann, and Brian Stampfer. Larry retired from Dayus Roofing after 38 years as a sheet metal worker par excellence and has remained a member of Local 235 since. Since he arrived in Canada in 1952, he became a faithful parishioner of St. Michaels German Church, was a member of the Catholic Men"s Society and the Teutonia (Soccer) Club where he was a past president and a loyal member of the choir. He was loyal and true to his faith, family and many friends. After a short illness, he died with dignity surrounded by loved ones.
