To the family of John Jenkins: Allow me to express my warmest condolences to each of you. I first met John way back in the mid 80's. After going through a very serious illness, and searching for a nice church home, I was to stay at Open Bible for several years. God re-directed me to leave Open Bible and began attending Salvation Army Citadel. I was to only stay a few years - when sadly I read in the paper that his first wife Kathleen passed away. I attended the funeral visitation at Open Bible and I was just so pleased at how welcoming John was, and others at the church, to have had me come. That really spoke to me, and I found myself returning to Open Bible Fellowship to worship there, and then to be employed there as well for 8 years, and then to sit on the Mission Committee in later years. of which John was a Chairperson. It has been my privilege to have known him and his second wife Magdalene throughout these years. I always used to remark to him that he sent me such intelligent, and encouraging emails to the office, as I was trying to emotionally handle working again. I so appreciated this. John was a very personable, and intelligent person and I can only imagine the impact he had while he worked at Wyeth. Age was never a factor, and if anything he was better as he got older!!! Again, my warmest condolences and thanks for a great gentleman. He has left an inspiration with so many including myself. Warmest thoughts and prayers, in these following days!! Kathy Hay
