Obituary of Domenico Spadafora

Passed away peacefully on April 5, 2020 with his loving family by his side at 85 years of age. Loving and devoted husband for 61 years of Giovanna (Nee Bitonti). Proud father of John (Josie), Sara (Tony Cervi), Anna (Vince Girardi), Tony (MaryHelen), Gina (David Rossi). Cherished Papa of Danielle, Marc, Alyssa, Ashley, Peter, Kristen, Marisa, Alana, Michael, Sofia and Luca. Survived by siblings Rosina (the late Tommaso Astorino), Maria (Gaetano Derose) and Teresa (Domenico Angotti). Predeceased by siblings Caterina (the late Pasquale Iaquinta) and Peppino (Rosetta) all of Italy. Domenico is also predeceased by his sister in law Filomena (the late Antonio Amato). Loving uncle of John Amato (Adele) and Anna (John Mancina) and many nieces and nephews in Italy. Domenico was born in San Giovanni in Fiore, Cosenza, Italy on May 5, 1934 and immigrated to Canada in 1962 with his family. He was a proud retiree of Chrysler Canada and was a long-time member of the Giovanni Caboto Club, with over 50 years of membership. He took pride in his annual making of salami, prosciutto, capocollo and wine,while always willing to help others. His love of life showed in his infectious smile and how he welcomed everyone into his home. He will be terribly missed by all who knew him. The family would like to extend a heart-felt thank you to the Windsor Alzheimer Society, Care Link, CCAC, Paramed, Bayshore, and the entire nursing staff on the 8th floor East at Windsor Regional Hospital- Ouellette Campus.The kindness and compassion shown from these organizations over the last 6 years will never be forgotten.
