Obituary of Dolores Gertrude Matte

MATTE: Dolores Gertrude (nee Champagne) Passed away peacefully on August 28, 2011, at Rose Garden Villa, at the age of 85. Born in St. Magloire, PQ, to the late Lumina & Wilbrod Champagne. Beloved wife of the late Leo Matte. Loving mother of Judy & Bill Oneschuk, Diane Fizzell, and Elaine Matte & Thomas Millben all of Windsor. Proud meme of Ann Marie, Christopher & Coreen, Jason & Heather, and Melissa Oneschuk & Mark Savi, Krista and Brandon Fizzell and their father George Fizzell. Dear memere of Coral, Carissa, Caylin Oneschuk, Ellowyn and Wyatt Oneschuk. Dear sister of Paul & Fernande Champagne and Lucien Champagne. Predeceased by brother Fernand Champagne and infant sister Marie Lors. Dolores is survived by many nieces, nephews, and close friends. Dolores was a longtime member of the Moose Lodge, and will be remembered for her love of sweets, knitting, cooking, bowling, shopping, especially at church bizarres, but most of all she loved her family, doting on her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Family BBQ"s will not be the same without Dolores complimenting Bill"s chicken and ribs. Visiting at the Windsor Chapel Funeral Home, 1700 Tecumseh Rd. E. (519) 253-7234 on Wednesday, August 31, 2011 from 2-5 p.m. & 7-9 p.m. Parish prayers at 4 p.m. on Wednesday. Funeral service on Thursday, September 1, 2011 at 9:30 a.m. from the funeral home then to St. Vincent de Paul Church for Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Interment to follow at Heavenly Rest Cemetery.
