Obituary of James Arthur Hastings

HASTINGS, James "Jim" Passed away peacefully on January 23, 2011 surrounded by his loving family at Hospice Residential Home at the age of 85 years. Beloved husband and soulmate for 63 years to Lorraine (nee Roy). Loving father to Judy and Ron Lachance, Brian and Colleen Hastings, Wayne and Cindy Hastings, Cathy and Doug Schwartzentruber, Gary and Shelley Hastings, Mary Ann and Bill Deady; and the late baby James Hastings (1954). Cherished "Papa" to 13 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Dear brother to Marguerite Richards and late husband Forest, Louise Cantafio and husband Joe, Peter and Judy Hastings. Predeceased by sister Norma Judd; and brothers Thomas Hastings and surviving wife Jeannette, and Vincent Hastings and surviving wife Darlene. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Jim retired in 1994 from Central Park Lodge. Visitation at WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME (Main Chapel) 253-7234 1700 Tecumseh Rd. E. on Wednesday, January 26, 2011 from 7 - 9 pm. Parish prayers at 7:30 pm. Family and friends will be received on Thursday, January 27, 2011 at Most Precious Blood Church (1947 Meldrum Rd. at Tecumseh Rd. E.) for visitation from 9:30 am until time of Funeral Mass at 10:30 am. Interment to follow at Heavenly Rest Cemetery.
