Obituary of John Staddon

STADDON John Clarence Passed away peacefully following a brave battle with cancer on Tuesday January 18, 2011 at the age of 70 years. Beloved husband of Nina ( Helena) Staddon. Dear father of Janet Staddon and partner Brian Ruholl of Las Vegas NV., and James Staddon and wife Charlene of LaSalle. Proud "Papa" of Brandon Thurlby and partner Krystal Beaudoin, Samantha Staddon and Maxwell Staddon. Dear son of the late Catherine Neville (2005) and Maxwell John Staddon (1945). Dear brother of Mary Coleman and husband Bob, and David Lanspeary and partner Barbara Simonetti, all of Arizona. Dear brother-in-law of Patricia Murray and husband Jim, and Donald Bury. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews and cousins. John owned and operated Staddon's Hardware Store and Staddon's Bike Shop for many years. He retired from his painting and wallpaper business in 2009. John was an avid hiker who shared his love of beautiful places with his family and friends. His memory will live on through the many road trips he planned and executed throughout the years. He was a true friend to many, and would willingly lend a hand to a friend or neighbour whenever it was needed. He loved entertaining in "The House That John Built", and he will be fondly remembered by the "Friday Night Dinner Group". Visiting at the WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME (Main Chapel) 253-7234, 1700 Tecumseh Rd., East on Thursday January 20, 2011 from 2-5 & 7-9 pm. Funeral Services on Friday January 21 at 11:00 am in the Chapel. Rev. William Bradley officiating. Interment to follow at Victoria Memorial Gardens Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Hospice of Windsor or to the Windsor Regional Cancer Centre would be appreciated by the family.
