Obituary of Paul Chesnik
CHESNIK, Paul Passed away peacefully December 12, 2010 surrounded by his family, after a brief illness at Windsor Regional Hospital, Metropolitan Campus, at the age of 91 years. Loving father of Paul David, Robert and wife Marian, Donald and wife Mary, Brian and wife Monica, of Mt. Clemens, MI, and David. Dearest grandfather to Laura, Martina, Dana, Alex, Ben, Maja, Amber, Connor, Christopher and Nicholas. Predeceased by his wife Dorothy (nee Blasko, 1991), his parents Josephat and Justina, son Steven, sisters Mary, Anne, Pauline and Elsie. Paul was a veteran of WWII (1939-1945) serving in the United Kingdom and Continental Europe. After his discharge from the army Paul settled in Windsor and found work with Motor Products and the Canadian Postal Service. Up until a few years ago Paul spent many years as an active member of Sts. Cyril and Methodius Slovak Church. He spent many Saturday nights tending bar at the Slovak Centre. He enjoyed many games of cards with his family and friends and loved to polka. Visiting at WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME, (MAIN CHAPEL), 1700 Tecumseh Rd. E., Windsor, Ontario on Tuesday, December 14, 2010 from 2 - 5 and 7 - 9 p.m. Parish prayers Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. Family and friends are requested to meet on Wednesday, December 15, 2010 at Most Precious Blood Church (1947 Meldrum Rd.at ecumseh Rd. E.) from 9:30 a.m., until time of Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Interment at Heavenly Rest Cemetery. The family requests donations be made to the Downtown Mission or Hospice of Windsor.
