Obituary of John Wilhelm Szrajer

SZRAJER, John Wilhelm Passed away peacefully at 75 years of age, after a brief illness on December 5, 2010 at Hotel Dieu Grace Hospital. Loving husband of 53 years to Caroline (nee Pitrus). Much loved father of Cathy and husband Lui Carlini, Elizabeth and husband Jason Bauman of Virginia. Devoted Grandpa of Lui Jr., Malinda, Aaron, Aiden and Ashley. Survived by his only loving sister Mary Szrajer. Survived by his sister in law Pat and husband Les Chapski and nephews Raymond and Terry Chapski. Predeceased by his parents Dominik and Anna Szrajer and nine brothers. Also missed by his loving and faithful companion "Lady". John was a proud member of the Windsor Veterans Memorial Service Committee, the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 143, the Canadian Vietnam Veterans Association and he also served in the Canadian Army Reserves. Visiting at WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME (MAIN CHAPEL) 1700 Tecumseh Road East on Thursday, December 9, 2010 from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. A veteran service under the auspices of the Windsor Veteran's Memorial Committee will be held on Thursday at 3:30 p.m. Parish prayers Thursday at 8:00 p.m. Funeral Services from the funeral home on Friday, December 10, 2010 at 9:15 a.m. then to Holy Trinity Polish Church for Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
