Obituary of Nedeljko Dragovic

DRAGOVIC, Nedeljko (Ned) Born September 29, 1917 in Struge, Gorica Hercegovina. Married in Treffling, Austria in 1949 and immigrated to Canada in 1950. Passed away peacefully on Monday, August 2, 2010 after a lengthy illness at 92 years of age. Beloved husband of 61 years to wife Milka Dragovic (nee Piskovic). Loving father to Vince Dragovic and wife Ana, and Mary Anne Perica and husband Stanko. Cherished grandfather to Peter Dragovic, Christina Dragovic, Steve Perica and wife Lana, Ivan Perica, Diana Perica, Sandy Pasciutta and husband Leo and children, Marina Sirozzotti and husband Mike and their daughter Gianna. Great-grandfather to Isabella Jane Perica. Predeceased by parents Pero and Mara Dragovic. Dear brother to Mirko Dragovic, Jakov Dragovic and sister Vinka Dragovic. Dear brother in-law to Zdravko Piskovic and wife Dragica. Adored uncle to Pero Dragovic Jr., Jakov Dragovic Jr., Nedja Buntic of Hercegovina, Marica Maletic and husband Mike, Mike Piskovic and wife Marica, Joe Piskovic and wife Teresa and Tony Piskovic and wife Tanya and children, Stipe Piskovic and wife Susie and children, and Mario Piskovic and wife Zdenka and children. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and extended family in Australia, Croatia, Canada and U.S.A. Dear and loving family friend Kuma Ljubica Bunoza and family and also Nikola and Danica Palameta and family. Ned will be remembered as a loving father and grandfather who loved his family above all else. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him. Ned retired in 1982 (28 years) from the Windsor Public School Board and was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Croatian Catholic Church. Family and friends will be received at WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME (MAIN CHAPEL), 1700 Tecumseh Rd. E. on Wednesday, August 4, 2010 from 2 - 5 and 7 - 9 pm. Parish prayers at 8 pm. Funeral Services on Thursday, August 5, 2010 at 9:15 am from the funeral home then to St. Francis of Assisi Croatian Catholic Church for Funeral Mass at 10 am. Entombment to follow at Heavenly Rest Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to St. Peter and Paul Croatian Church in Struge, Gorica, Hercegovina.
