Obituary of Nicholas Buchok

BUCHOK, Nicholas Sr. Born December 19, 1922, in Ukraine, passed away peacefully into the Lord's loving arms, on May 16, 2010, at Windsor Regional Hospital, Metropolitan Campus at the age of 87. Wonderful and loving husband to Anna (nee Popadiuk) for 58 years. Loving father to Maria Kelly and husband Michael, Paula Buchok, Stephanie Desjarlais and husband David, Nicholas Buchok and wife Mary Moncur. Dear Gidu of Sonya, Andrea and fianc" Malcolm, Brendan, Brian, Nicholas, Kaitlyn, Trevor, Rachelle-Michelle, Jack, Danielle and husband Ryan, Mary Beth and Daryl. Dear great Gidu to Hailey. Son to the late Stefan & Fenia Buchok. Dear brother to the late Marusha. Survived by extended family in Ukraine. Nicholas was the former owner of the Star Tavern (Gladstone Ave.) and the Amherst Hotel (Amherstburg). He was a member and usher at Sts. Vladimir and Olga Ukrainian Church, K of C South Windsor and the Euchre Club. He was also a member of the Hotel Association of Ontario. Visiting at the WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME 1700 Tecumseh Rd. East on Tuesday, May 18, 2010 from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. Panakhyda (Prayers) at 7:30 p.m. Family and friends are requested to meet at Sts. Vladimir & Olga Ukrainian Church on Wednesday, May 19, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. until time of Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. Rt. Rev. Fr. Eugene Halitsky officiating.
