Obituary of Lawrence John Martin

MARTIN, Lawrence John "Larry " Passed away Saturday, May 1, 2010 at the age of 92 years. Reunited with his beloved wife and best friend Claudia (2000). Dear father of Carol and husband Ron Carley, of Windsor, Cathy and husband Roger Wilson of Kitchener, Larry and wife Carrie, David and wife Elaine, and Jim and wife Susan, all of Windsor. Dear grandfather of 11 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and their extended families. Larry will be missed by his beloved dog "Bijou". Mr. Martin retired in 1982 from Ford Motor Company after 42 years of service as an electrician. He was the longest surviving parishioner of the former Sacred Heart Church. Not only did he receive all of his lifelong sacraments there, he served the church as a minister of Holy Communion. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and St. Vincent de Paul Society. Visiting at the WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME 1700 Tecumseh Road East, on Monday, May 3, 2010 from 2-5 & 7-9 p.m. Prayers Monday evening at 7:30 p.m. Funeral service Tuesday, May 4, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. then to Immaculate Heart Church (2153 Parkwood Ave.) for Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. Entombment to follow at Heavenly Rest Cemetery.
