Obituary of Walter Skally

Passed away surrounded by his family in Leamington, Ontario on March 8, 2020. Loving husband of the late Mary, nee Chapski, (2016) for 57 years. Cherished father of Morris, Katherine (Andre) Chartrand, Christine (Steven) Nagy, Linda, and the late Susan (2002). Proud Dido of Geoffrey (Suzie), Amanda (Amy), and Marcel. Predeceased by his parents William & Katie and his brother Morris. Walter came from Kirkland Lake, Ontario in 1950 with his parents and brother to Windsor. He was a proud & hard-working small business owner for 67 years. He owned the Dougall Road Motel, the Skally Service Gas Station and the Ivy Rose Motor Inn & Restaurant with his wife Mary. Walter was known and loved by many. He will be deeply missed by all. Visitation at WINDSOR CHAPEL (South Chapel) 3048 Dougall Ave, Windsor. 519-253-7234 on Wednesday, March 11, 2020 from 2-4pm & 7-9pm. Panachyda at 8pm. Visitation will continue on Thursday, March 12, 2020 from 10:30am until the time of the Chapel Service at 11am. Officiated by Fr. Tom Hrywna. Interment to follow at Windsor Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Walter may be made to the Humane Society of Windsor & Essex County, Sts. Vladimir and Olga of Southwood Lakes or to Erie Shores Health Care.
