Obituary of Dorothy Evelyn St. Pierre

ST. PIERRE, Dorothy Evelyn (nee Elder) March 13, 1923-March 5, 2020 Passed away peacefully at Windsor Regional Hospital- Ouellette Campus one week before her 97th birthday. She was predeceased by her loving husband Walter St. Pierre (1986), her parents John Taylor Elder and Rose Matilda McGee. Dorothy was the last of 10 siblings, she is predeceased by her seven sisters, and two brothers; Hugh Elder, Irene Maki (John), Rose Antaya (Francis), Vera McFadden (Morely), Frida Squires (Lloyd), Ruby Smith (Gordon), Mildred Zimmerman (Louis), Donald Elder and Phyllis Jarvis. With her siblings, Dorothy was born and raised on a farm near Dresden, Ontario. She was known as a superb seamstress and a wonderful cook. She and her husband Walter manufactured and sold fur coats under their business name, St. Pierre Furs of Windsor. She will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, her granddaughter Diane Tkachuk of Winnipeg, Manitoba and many extended family and friends. The family wishes to offer our sincerest thanks to the staff at La Chaumiere Retirement Home where Dorothy lived for the past four years, for their love, support and care. Visiting at WINDSOR CHAPEL (Banwell Chapel) 11677 Tecumseh Road East, 519-253-7234 on Monday, March 16, 2020 from 6-9 p.m. Funeral Service will take place in the chapel on Tuesday, March 17, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Heavenly Rest Cemetery.
