Obituary of Carmelo Vernuccio

VERNUCCIO, Carmelo Born in Rosolini, Sicily, passed away November 21, 2009, surrounded by his loving family, at the age of 83 years. Beloved and devoted husband of Rosa. Cherished Papa of Tony and Mary (Carmelo 1987, Rob and Marcello), Joanna and Otto (Dom and Rick), Mariella and Corrado, (Sara, Cristina and Marco) and Joe and Pauline (Jordan). Also survived by 5 great-grandchildren, many relatives in Italy and dear friends in Windsor. Carmelo came to Canada in 1963 and worked construction in Toronto. He then settled in Windsor where he was the owner of Country Style Donuts for 22 years. He loved spending time with his family, playing cards with his friends and bocceball at picnics. We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Datillo, Comcare girls, Tammy, Margerita, Heather, Barb, and O.T. Rosemary. To Met Emerg. nurses, to Alex, Jenny, Helena, Shimol, Don and Frank on 6 north who gave us support and compassion. Also to Officer Brent, Dr. Drake, Dora, Angelo and the Montessori staff. Lastly, to Dr. Nwardiaro, words alone cannot express our heartfelt thanks for all you did. You are not only an exceptional physician, but also a kind and compassionate man. Visting at the WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME, 1700 Tecumseh Rd. E., on Monday, November 23, 2009, from 2 - 5 and 7 - 9 p.m. Prayers Monday at 8 p.m.. Funeral Service Tuesday November 24, 2008 at 10:15 from the Funeral Home then to St. Angela Merici Church for Funeral Mass at 11am . Entombment at Heavenly Rest Cemetery.
