Obituary of Joseph George Goetz

GOETZ, Joseph George "Papa Joe" Passed away peacefully into God's loving arms on August 23, 2009 at the age of 79, surrounded by his loving family. Beloved husband of Donna (Blair) and predeceased by wife, Gladys (Leach-1984) and parents Anthony and Elizabeth. Loving and devoted father of Mark and wife Darcel Goetz, Michelle Goetz. Loving step-father to Christine (Clarence) Dumouchelle, Tom (Mary Jo) Oliver. Cherished Papa to Kendra Goetz, Rachel and Riley Lammers, Chantelle (Sean) Martin, Hannah and Nathan Oliver, Shayne, Nick, Stuart, Carissa, Addison and Joey Dumouchelle. Loving brother to Anne (Wilf) Gravel, Nick (Margaret) Goetz, Marg (Charlie) Cachia, Liz (Ray) Renaud, Gertrude Gratowski (late Tom), Rosie Wyatt (late David), the late Betty Oddo (the late Max). Brother-in-law of Madeline (Doug) Leach, Gord and Muriel Leach, the late Chuck and Betty Root, Leo Blair, Richard (Nancy) Blair. Joseph will be missed by numerous nieces and nephews from Windsor, Oshawa, Ridgetown and California. Joe retired from Chrysler Canada in 1992 and was a life member of St. Vincent de Paul Knights of Columbus Council #9528; member 4th Degree of Fr. Alphonse Kerckhaert Assembly and a member of Royal Canadian Legion Branch #578. Joe lived a full life with no regrets. His easy going personality lended itself to three favourite sayings "very good - very good", "time will tell", and "play it by ear". A celebration of life for Joe will be held at WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME, 1700 Tecumseh Rd. E. on Tuesday, August 25, 2009 from 7-9 and Wednesday from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. Parish prayers Wednesday at 7 p.m. followed by K of C Third Degree and Fourth Degree Services. Funeral Service Thursday, August 27, 2009 at 9:15 a.m. from the Funeral Home then to St. Vincent de Paul Church for Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Interment to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
