Obituary of Gizela Cerget
CERGET, Gizela (Chamko) On Tuesday, August 11, 2009, with her devoted family by her side, died peacefully at Windsor Regional Hospital, Western Campus at the age of 95 years. Beloved wife and best friend of Julius for 75 years. Born in Slovakia. We are broken hearted, but find comfort knowing where she longed to be. Dearest mother to twins John and (Julius, 1934), Anna (Donald) Hancock. Devoted and proud Grandmother to Christopher (Margaret) Hancock, Kenneth Hancock (1980) Brian (Deanna) Hancock, and Laura (Petar) Dobrich. Dear Great-Grandmother to Jessica, Spencer and Forrest Hancock, Garrett, Landis, Brennan and Kendra Hancock, Aleksandar, Danijela and Stefan Dobrich. Dearest sister to Steve Chamko and predeceased by sister Julia Majernick. Dear sister-in-law to Margaret Riberdy, Joe Cerget, predeceased by Tony and Helen Cerget. Many nieces and nephews also survive. Visiting at WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME, 1700 Tecumseh Rd. E. on Friday, August 14, 2009 from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Prayers Friday at 8 p.m. Funeral Service on Saturday, August 15, 2009 at 9:45 a.m. from the Funeral Home then to Sts. Cyril and Methodius Slovak Church for Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. Entombment to follow at Heavenly Rest Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations to the London Regional Cancer Centre, or Windsor Regional Cancer Centre, would be appreciated by the family. A tree will be planted in memory of Gizela. A special thank you to Theresa, Sue, Sara, Krystal and nursing staff on Tower 4 at Windsor Regional Hospital, Western Campus.
