Obituary of Anton Gombar

GOMBAR, Anton "Tony" Feb. 28, 1910 - Aug. 8, 2009 Passed away in his 100th year, with his granddaughter Jamie Kerester and her husband Marty by his side. Survived by his 3 daughters, Margit Bryan, Elizabeth Allen and her husband Terry, and Giselle Heitmann and her husband Dieter of Germany. Will be missed by 9 grandchildren and 13 great- grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews. Tony was a kind and gentle soul with so much love to give. Those who were fortunate enough to have had him in their lives are truly blessed. Tony will be leaving behind his good friends Raymond, Louis, and Lino. Tony was co-owner and mechanic at Heinz and Tony's Garage for many years. He was a jack of all trades, learning carpentry, plumbing, and electrical work. His strength, determination and independence were apparent throughout his life. Visiting at the WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME, 1700 Tecumseh Rd. E. on Monday, August 10, 2009 from 2-4 and from 7-9 pm. A funeral service celebrating Tony's life will be on Tuesday, August 11, 2009 at 10 am in the chapel. Interment Victoria Memorial Gardens.
