Obituary of James Randall Winters
WINTERS, James (Jamie) With broken hearts we grieve the sudden death of our dear son, Jamie on Saturday, July 25, 2009 at 28 years of age. Beloved son of Randy and Anne Winters (nee Switzer). Dear brother of Jessica Larsh and Ryan, and Patrick. Mini-golf and McDonald"s partner to Julia and Alex. James had found true love with Amanda and was planning to propose to her. James already felt like a part of the Campigotto family. Jamie will be missed by his grandfather Stan Winters and Carol, his great "Uncle" Andy and many aunts, uncles and cousins. He will be especially missed of course by his cat "Shadow". With open arms Grandma and Grandpa Switzer and Grandma Winters are waiting for him. Thank you to the staff in the ER and ICU at Hotel Dieu Grace Hospital especially Chris, Maggie and Tracey. Visitation at WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME, 1700 Tecumseh Rd. Online condolences and cherished memories may be shared with the family at www.windsorchapel.com Sometime over the past 10 days, God has been interviewing many candidates for job openings. He decided it was time that the individuals in these existing roles and responsibilities move on and take care of other wishes that He had in mind. God is looking for several individuals as he thinks it is time for a change. Although the list of possible candidates is long, God thought that he should act fast, as the last time he made changes of this magnitude it was almost 29 years ago. At that time he had a candidate in mind, but Jamie told God that he was going to turn the position down, as he wanted to spend time with his mom and dad, his sister, and eventually his brother. So Jamie overcame his premie medical obstacles and became our "miracle" baby. So his earthly life began... Jamie at a young age took on responsibilities that any mom and dad, sister or brother, uncle or aunt, grandmother or grandfather, niece or nephew, cousin, neighbour or fellow student or employee would want. Slowly he gained confidence, wisdom, knowledge and experience. Let us tell you about our son... > Care giver Jamie was always there to visit and care for his Grandma Switzer and and to take "Uncle" Andy for coffee to Timmy"s. When I was recuperating after surgery, he would tip toe into my room and whisper, "Mom, I got you you a coffee. I"ll warm it up when you get up." He would get up early with his Dad ( and you all know that Randy gets up early!) to make him breakfast and to talk his ear off. > Church Committees He was honoured to be a Eucharistic Minister, but his anxiety took the better of him) > Baby sitter (All children loved Jamie , especially his niece and nephew, Julia and Alex and Amanda"s nephew"s Zachary and Robbie. > Customer Service (He and Patrick delivered newspapers along with their faithful companion, Chloe for many years and Jamie worked part time at Canadian Tire, and at Elias grocery store > Groundskeeper Jamie cut the grass at our house, my Mom and Dad"s and lately at Uncles" > Chef Jamie"s favourite channel was the Food Network and we had some really gourmet meals waiting for us when we came home from work every night > Maintenance Jamie could always fix something that was broken > Sports Jamie loved to play baseball. You know he was a leftie so he made a good pitcher. He loved to golf, ( his first set of clubs was a ladies" leftie set for his birthday > Party Co-ordinator Jamie liked to set up for our birthdays... buying cards and presents (Boy Pat you"re going to have to step up to the plate now) and we always had to have balloons.. lots of balloons! > Animal Lover Jamie went to a shelter to get a cat and home he came with a poor little "schizo" crossed eyed black cat because he felt sorry for it and no one else would take it. Shadow is missing Jamie and wakes us up in the middle of the night for "Temtations" > Wood working He loved to make willow chairs, cedar furniture and birdhouses. His first sale brought him so much joy he wanted to cut every bush he saw and our garage was full. God has come looking again and looked over Jamie"s resume and has accepted him into his kingdom. Jamie"s last words to me were, "Mom I just want to go home!" Jamie YOU are HOME. GO and be FREE. You are at Peace We will love you forever and will never forget what a "gift" you were to all of us! PS When I ask you for a favour, you better listen to your Mother or else!
