Obituary of Vittorio Anzolin

ANZOLIN, VITTORIO (Victor) 83 years. Strong, quiet and proud. Vittorio gently passed away on April 15, 2009. Surrounded by his family and friends, Vittorio gave his last breath after a lifetime of dedication to his family and commitment to his work. Leaving Portogruaro, Italy, Vittorio immigrated to Canada in 1955 to begin a new life as a professional tradesman. Vittorio was employed for 34 years with Windsor Tool and Die. His skills and abilities were recognized by many and he was often called upon to help fix or solve a problem. He was always there to offer a helping hand - and, he did so with a smile. In addition to loving his family and work, Vittorio loved animals, particularly his cats. Vittorio was a founding member of the Veneti nel Mondo and a member of the Caboto Club. He will sorely be missed by his family and friends - his wife of 51 years, Maria (nee Marra); his children: Roger (Michelle), Renzo (Monica), and Susan; his grandchildren: Melissa, Rio, and Doran; his late brother Angelo (Nella) (Italy); his sisters- and brothers-in-law: Rosetta and Alfredo Morando, Peter and Olga Marra, and Maria Marra (Italy); his nieces and nephews, especially Maria Pia Bernab"; and his best friend, Alfeo Zonta. The family would like to thank and acknowledge the excellent care and service that Vittorio received by the nursing staff on the third floor of the Windsor Regional Hospital, Metropolitan Campus. Visitation at WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME, 1700 Tecumseh Rd. E. Friday, April 17, 2009 from 2-9 p.m. Parish prayers Friday at 7:30 p.m. Relatives and friends are requested to gather at St. Angela Merici Church (980 Louis Avenue) on Saturday, April 18, 2009 from 9:00 a.m. until time of Funeral Mass at 9:30 a.m. Entombment to follow at Heavenly Rest Cemetery. The family respectfully requests that any donations be made in Vittorio"s memory to Italian Canadian Handicapable Association or Habitat for Humanity.
