Obituary of Antoine Gagnon
GAGNON, Antoine Francois "Tony" Passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on March 31st, 2009 at the age of 98 years. Beloved husband of Yvonne (Hogue) (2004). Loving father to Clem and Anne (2006), Antoinette (1966) and Neil Hines, Raymond and Joanne, Francoise and Chris, Patrick (1989) and Vivie, Theresa and George Minto, Joseph (1949), Jeannine and Terry Miller, Marc and Katharine, Fred and Linda, Louis and Cheryl, Luc and Judy, Georges and Pam, Petesy and Scott Warnock, predeceased by son-in-law Don Wray (1992) and Ed and Michelle Cote. Cherished Grandpa to 41 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren. Survived by sisters Helen Amlin, Lena Meloche, and Alma Quenneville. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Antoine graduated from University of Ottawa in 1938 and went on to teach school for 35 years. He taught cadets at Camp Ipperwash, and spent his retirement years repairing bicycles, lawn mowers and cars. He cherished time with his family, playing euchre and playing pool. Visitation at WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME, 1700 Tecumseh Rd. E. on Thursday, April 2, 2009 from 7-9 p.m. and Friday from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. Parish prayers Friday at 7:30 p.m. Funeral Services Saturday, April 4, 2009 at 9:00 a.m. from the Funeral Home then to St. Clement Church, McGregor for Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Interment to follow at St. Clement Cemetery, McGregor. As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to Juvenile Diabetes Association, Heart of the City Foundation (HDH) or St. Clement Church Building Fund.
