Obituary of Giovanni Martino

MARTINO- Giovanni Lost his courageous battle with cancer on February 15th 2009, at Windsor Regional Hospital, Metropolitan Campus at 74 years of age. He was born in Pietrafitta, calabria, Italy. Beloved husband of Maria (Nee Rose) of 49 years, and cherished father of Francesca. Dear brother of sisters Lina (Rocco) Cardone and Rosina Martino. Predeceased by brother Antonio and sister Giuseppina Tassitino. Cherished brother-in-law to Maria Martino (Nee Pantuso), Italo and Georgette Rose, Edda and Joe Spadafora, and Marcello and Uga Rose. Dear Zio to many nieces and nephews in Windsor, Michigan, and California. Will be sadly missed by numerous cousins in Windsor, Toronto and Italy. Giovanni was a retired employee at National Auto Radiator. His greatest passions were his garden and woodworking. Visiting at the WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME 1700 Tecumseh Road East on Tuesday February 17th, 2009 from 2 to 5pm and 7 to 9pm. Prayers Tuesday at 8pm. Funeral services on Wednesday February 18th, 2009 at 8:45am from the funeral home then to St. Angela Merici Church for Funeral Mass at 9:30am. Entombment to follow at Heavenly Rest Cemetery. Our sincerest thanks to the V.O.N. nurses who took good care of Giovanni at home and the nurses at 4 North at Windsor Regional Hospital, Met Campus.
