Obituary of George Jurecko

JURECKO, George Sept. 9, 1920 - Feb. 5, 2009 Passed away peacefully at Extendicare Tecumseh surrounded by family at the age of 88 years. Formerly from Windsor and Cottam. Predeceased by parents Anna (nee Matis) and John Jurecko. Predeceased by brother John and Sophie Jurecko, Ann and Andrew Kassa, Mary and Andrew Kostelnik, Andy Jurecko. Survived by sister in law Mary-Ann Jurecko. Also survived by several nieces and nephews, Great and Great-great nieces and nephews. George retired from General Motors and was a member of CAW Local 1973 and Knights of Columbus Council #3305 (Essex). A thank you to the staff of Extendicare Tecumseh for their great care and compassion. Also a special thank you to caregiver Shelly Jacob. Visitation at WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME, 1700 Tecumseh Rd. E. on Friday, February 6, 2009 from 5-9 p.m. Parish and Knights of Columbus Council #3305 prayers Friday at 7:15 p.m. Funeral Services Saturday, February 7, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. from the Funeral Home then to Sts. Cyril and Methodius Slovak Catholic Church for Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. Interment to follow at St. Alphonsus Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Cyril and Methodius Slovak Catholic Church or St. Michael's Greek Catholic Church.
