Robert, to you and your sisters, Diane and Jennifer, I want to take this moment to offer my sincere condolences and express my deepest sympathy at the passing of your Mom, Darlene. My aunt, Fil Greco, told me of her passing when I paid her a visit the other day.
Darlene was a wonderful woman, a modern day Saint and my mother, Maria Greco, absolutely adored her before she passed several years ago. When we left the neighborhood in the early 70s, my Mom always kept in touch with yours and in the later years it was your beloved Mom who kept in touch with mine.
Your mother was always a pleasure to talk to; she was not only a great listener but had a heart of gold, offered sound advice and always made you feel special. I always enjoyed her company and wanted to visit her when I retired but unfortunately I never got the chance which is something that I feel bad about.
Nevertheless, just want you to know Rob that I’m thinking about you and your family at this time, may God rest Michael’s soul. I’ll be making a donation in honor and memory of your Mom to LIFE AFTER FIFTY as my Mom also attended and took part in activities offered at the centre.
Take Care All of You and God Bless
Joe Greco

I sent a tribute the other day but not sure where it got posted. Maybe there are a few sites. I just watched the beautiful funeral, incredible stories and Love for Darlene and family and friends. I sang with Darlene for many years with the Windsor Community Choir. She sent me get well cards last year when I underwent surgery. I had been to her beautiful home as well, and a gracious host she was. I will miss you. RIP Darlene with Music in your heart. Pat Root [WCC]

My family was lucky enough to have Darlene as our friend and neighbour for the last 26 years. We moved into our home as a young family and Darlene quickly became like a grandma to myself, my husand and my children. She was always genuinely happy to see us and she always had a smile and a kind word for us. She watched my children grow up and shared in our joys and our sorrows and we in hers. She was proud of my girls as if they were her grandchildren. She was a beautiful person that my family is blessed to have known and to have loved and us to be loved by her. One of the last things she said to my husband was how much she enjoyed us as neighbours and friends and she asked us to never ever move. She was one of a kind, a rare gem in this cruel world and we are going to miss her immensely and we are going to miss seeing her every single day. Sleep in Heavenly Peace Darlene. Love George, Terri, Amber, Taren and Kylie Whited

She adored you all. When I would call from Burlington, her updates included you and your family. I heard about the kids' graduations, proms, and the work George did around the house. She admired how hard you worked and how much you loved your family. Thank you for being awesome neighbours. Di xo

I knew Darlene from aquafit at Adie Knox and at LAF. She was a very kind and friendly person. She always remembered my name even though we were just members at the same place and talked a bit. And I always wanted to call her Deloris! Now I sing the song, Oh Darlene, scooby doo, I'm in love with you Darlene, scooby doo. I'm grateful to have known her.

I am sorry to hear of your mom's passing, Diane. I send my deepest sympathy to you and your family. I remember her so fondly from my Woolco Pharmacy days with Marwan. She was always smiling and it was quite evident to me that she enjoyed her job and had such a great heart for the residents. May God wrap his arms around you and your family at this time of mourning and may wonderful memories bring you comfort in the coming years.

My beautiful sister. So thoughtful, kind and so loved by the family. After my husband passed away Darlene would call me every Sunday to make sure I was okay and send texts during the week. She never waivered in her support for family and friends. In her passing she has left a huge void in our lives. Heaven has truly gained and angel.
