Very Rev Fr. Richard Hawrish
81 years. Passed away on December 11, 2024 with family by his side. Loving husband of Lilia (nee Baziuk) for 55 years. Loving father to Richard Hawrish (Ann), Stephanie DeVries (Kevin), Joanne Lemay (Jason), Paul Hawrish (Robin) and the late Christine Hawrish (1974). Cherished Dido to Julianna, Christina, Samuel DeVries, Joshua, Nathaniel, Marcus Lemay, Alice, Daniel and Jeremy Hawrish. Dear brother to Mary-Beth Hawrish (Leonard Lizmore).
Fr. Richard practised Law in Windsor for over 40 years. He was ordained in the Ukrainian Orthodox Church USA in 1983 and was a faithful servant of God. Fr Richard will be sadly missed. He will always be remembered for his generosity, his kindness and willingness to always help others.
Visitation will be held at Windsor Chapel Funeral Home (South Chapel), 3048 Dougall Avenue (519-253-7236) on Sunday, December 15th from 2-5 & 7-9 p.m. Prayers Sunday evening at 7:30 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 16, 2024 at 9:15 a.m. from the funeral home then to St Nicholas Macedonian Orthodox Church, 5225 Howard Avenue for the time of the Funeral Service at 10:00 a.m. Rev Fr Emil Atanasov officiating. Donations to the St Nicholas Macedonian Orthodox Church (etransfer to donations.stnicholaswindsor@gmail.com) or Canada-Ukraine Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
