Obituary of Elias Tabra
Passed away peacefully with family by his side on November 30, 2024 at the age of 88. Devoted husband to Melada Abo-Zakhem.
Cherished father to Lama (Steve) Pizzuti, Lamis (Mikail) Chahin, May Tabra and Wael (Christine) Tabara. Loving grandfather to Michael, Selena and Christopher Chahin, Syriana and Elias Tabara.
Predeceased by parents Sim’an and Salima Tabra. Brother to the late Fr. Michel and family, late Dawud, Riad and family, Shafik and family, Wazira and family, late Georgette and family, Melada and family, Shukria and Jamila.
He will be missed by many nieces, nephews and friends around the world; including the Middle East, Europe and North America.
Elias was well known for his teaching in Syria. He taught for many years as an Arabic Language Professor at the Higher Institute of Theatrical of Arts in Damascus Syria.
Elias spent his pass time reading and devoting his time to his faith. He was an avid card player at the local Tim Hortons and at Church.
As an expression of sympathy, the family would ask for donations to be made to the family in Elias’ honour. They will then be sending the money as a donation to their favourite non-profit organization.
Visitation will be held at Windsor Chapel - Banwell (11677 Tecumseh Rd E) on Tuesday, December 3,2024 from 3:00pm to 5:00pm and 7:00pm to 9:00pm. Prayers held at 7:30pm. Visitation will continue at St. Simeon Melkite Church on December 4, 2024 at 10am until the time of funeral service at 11:00am. Burial to follow at Windsor Memorial Gardens.
