Obituary of Charmaine Janisse

Charmaine Janisse

November 1, 1952 - November 6, 2024

With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Charmaine Janisse, on November 6, 2024; 5 days after her 72nd birthday. With her favourite Elton John song playing, and her family constantly by her side, Charmaine succumbed to the cancer that had recently become a part of her life.

Predeceased by her parents Roland and Alice Janisse, husband Michael Ferrigan and brother Fred Janisse (Cheryl), Charmaine is survived by her children Amy Vermette (Craig) and Lori Vermette; grandchildren Alyssa, Ethan and Lucas; siblings Claudette Spencer (Mark), Louise Hayes (Bob), Roland Janisse (Patricia), and Dan Janisse (Jackie). She will be sadly missed by her dear friends Cher, Jean, Liz S, and Liz H. Charmaine will be fondly remembered by extended family, and those who knew her.

Charmaine was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, and sister. Her strength was her weakness: she was a selfless person who put others’ needs above her own. Charmaine gained fulfillment by helping others. She was a passionate care-giver to relatives, dedicated Unifor representative, school lunch monitor, would deliver food from the food bank to those who could not drive there, and had a particular soft spot for rescuing dogs. For fun, Charmaine enjoyed driving her golf cart full of grandkids at her trailer, picking weeds, thrift shopping, and watching reruns.Charmaine will be remembered as being endlessly helpful, giving, devoted, loving, and always ready to share in a good laugh!

Charmaine’s family will receive relatives and friends for a Celebration of Life on Saturday, December 7, 2024 from 11am to 12:30pm at the Windsor Chapel Funeral Home (Banwell Location) at 11677 Tecumseh Rd E in Windsor 519-253-7234, with a Memorial Service from 12:30pm to 1pm.

Thank you to our family and friends and Kitchener’s Innisfree Hospice who supported Charmaine during her end-of-life journey.

As an expression of sympathy and in tribute to Charmaine’s willingness to help others, please consider donating funds to your local hospice or goods to your local mission.
