Omay was a retiree of General Motors Trim Plant and was a life member of the Royal Canadian Legion (RCL) Branch 255. He served many years on the RCL house committee and was a long-time member of the RCL Colour Guard, and was a member of the Windsor Sportsman Club for more than 47 years. He will be remembered for his generous heart in helping others, camping, making cabinets, making bird houses with his grandchildren, and planting a garden. We will never forget those colourful indigenous rain dances around the fire, when it actually rained, but there was no rain in the forecast. Omay will also be fondly remembered as Santa Claus at the BASF Children’s Christmas parties which he was a part of for over 30 years.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to everyone at Hospice for their kindness and compassionate care. Our sincere thanks to the Royal Canadian Legion Color Guard who provided an in-room service at Hospice, and a special thank you goes to Terry Gauthier for his unwavering love and support he provided to the family during these challenging weeks.
