Obituary of Sharon Jo-Ann Bormann

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Sharon Bormann, who passed away peacefully at the Villages of St. Clair. Predeceased by her best friend and husband, Bruno (2020), of 51 years, and much-loved son, Freddy (2009). She will be forever missed by her daughter, Kathy (Ron) Galipeau. Adored Oma of Sara (Ethan) Kopecky, Marc, and Sadie. She will be missed dearly by her mother, Helen Cooke (George 1984).

Sister-in-law to the late Gerhard (late Gerda), late Maria (late Willy) Trittler, Freida (late Otto) Schwengsbier, Erich (Mary) Bormann and Hilda (late Abraham) Dewaal. Sharon is survived by many nieces and nephews, whom she was very proud of and loved.

Sharon had a passion for the arts and was exceptionally talented in drawing, painting, and writing poetry. She had a remarkable ability to make everyone feel cherished and loved, never forgetting to send a birthday card.

As an Elementary School Teacher with the Windsor Public Board, she dedicated herself to her students until Fred’s health took precedence. Sharon founded the parents’ support group for the Windsor Chapter of the Kidney Foundation and was widely recognized across the province for her advocacy for children with special needs. She frequently spoke at public events about the significance of organ donation.

In recent years, Sharon resided at the Villages of St. Clair, where she actively participated in various clubs, served on multiple committees, and engaged as a community representative. Her impact on her extended family was profound, and she will be dearly missed. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the staff at The Villages of St. Clair for their phenomenal care, compassion and support.

Thank you to our family and friends that supported us during her end of life journey. Especially her dear friend Teresa Ruffolo.

Arrangements entrusted to Windsor Chapel Funeral Home - Central Chapel (519-253-7234). Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will take place with family and friends. In lieu of flowers, donations in Sharon’s honour, may be made to SickKids Hospital. Online condolences and cherished memories may be shared at www.windsorchapel.com
