Oh, Sue. What can I say to you and Jodie? I can't even put into words how much I'm going to miss Shelagh. It's impossible for me to believe that I'll never hear her laugh again; we always had such a good time discussing life, family, and any subject that arose during our visits. She was the most empathetic person I have ever met, and it's hard to find that quality of compassion. I believe that the best judge of a person's character is the way he or she treats animals - by that standard, she far surpassed the majority of people. Any animal who crossed her path was lucky to be blessed by her immeasurable kindness. Of course, nobody could cut my hair like she could! How I'll miss her talented hands. Not only did she give me the best haircut I could ever wish for, she sincerely cared what was going on in my life. I guess it's true what they say about hairdressers - they make the best listeners. I hope that I listened to her as intently when she needed an ear, and I regret not telling her more often how much I appreciated her. A lot has changed in the fifteen years since I first met Shelagh, but one thing will never change - she was the best hair-cutter in the world to me, and more importantly, I am proud to say she was my FRIEND...
