Obituary of Yvonne Rheaume

RHEAUME-Yvonne Marie Yvonne passed away peacefully in the early morning of September 15, 2024 at the age of 78. She is survived by her husband Norman, brother Michel (Susan) Marentette, sister Jeannine Marentette, sister Theresa (Bob) Geise (nee Marentette) and pre-deceased brother Andre (Sylvia) Marentette. She was a cherished aunt of Sherri George, Terri Matton, Chris Marentette and goddaughter Renee Alexander, Jeannie Marentette, Stephen Marentette, Juliette Aguilar, Ivan Huneault, Louise Huneault, Lynne Huneault and predeceased by Ken Marentette. She will be sadly missed by many Great nieces and nephews. Yvonne was a teacher with the Board of Education from 1966 to 1998 having taught at Forster, Herman, and Massey secondary schools. Former students attest to the fact that Yvonne's lifelong gift of always considering the needs of others before her own had an effect on their own development of becoming adults. In her retirement years, Yvonne was involved in two of the local chapters of Questers as well as being a tour guide at the Willisted Manor. Much to the delight of her photographer husband her love of travel took her to provinces and states in North America, countries in Central and South America, Europe, and South-East Asia. We wish to salute the staff of Brouillette Manor where Yvonne spent the last three months of her life for the compassionate care she received there. Yvonne will be sorely missed by all those who knew her. Cremation has taken place. A private celebration of Yvonne's life will be held at a later date.
