My sincere condolences to the family and friends. Frank was a gentleman’s gentleman. We admired his brilliant mind, fierce advocacy and eloquence. He was humble, non-judgemental and incredibly kind. Years ago, in a Dale Carnegie class, we were told that we should aspire to live our lives so that our obituary would reflect positive values and would inspire others to do the same. Franks obituary exemplifies those sentiments. Rest in peace Frank. Heaven has welcomed an angel.

Mr. Montello was well known and respected in the Leamington area. He was the counsel of choice for Italians and indeed anyone who found themselves needing representation in the criminal courts. I had the honour and privilege of working with him on several files over the years. He was always a gentleman , eloquent and gracious. He was an icon in the legal community. Sincere condolences to the Montello and Laidlaw families. Frank was a good friend and colleague. Roger shared many trials with Frank who was simply the best advocate in the province. He was an icon, a mentor and a hero to many. He was always bringing young lawyers into his sphere to help them understand the law and share his passion. We enjoyed his friendship for over 40 years. We will miss him.

Frank was a mentor and good friend to so many of us who spent our days practicing criminal law in Windsor’s trial courts over the years.
His tenacity in the courtroom was legendary, his collegiality and civility a constant and his mischievous but friendly smile ubiquitous. I have many fond memories of gathering as colleagues during court breaks for coffee or lunch closeby cityhall square at the Trevi or TBQ. There between cases you would invariably find Frank and his beloved Norma sharing some time together. It was a moment to put roles and differences aside and share a story so often with a good laugh.
My very deepest condolences to you his family. Frank be missed.

I am unfortunately unable to attend next week's visitation or funeral Mass for Mr. Montello. But I want his family and friends to know that I, like so many others, am very saddened by his passing. From the time I first met Mr. Montello when I was in high school to our occasional encounters when I was a young lawyer, he was always gracious and supportive. He was a good and joyful man, a responsible and charitable citizen and one of the very finest courtroom lawyers this city (or for that matter this country) has ever produced. My sincere condolences to his large and loving family.

the world has lost a a great soul. There are so many memories of this truly awesome person....
He and my Dad (Pete Mazzali) grew up in the same neighborhood, so our family knew him for years.
Many years ago, just after John & I bought our farm in Cottam, he attended one of our strawberry socials... getting the "tour" of the farm and it's animals, he came into the almost 100 year old farmhouse, sat down on the couch in the family room, put his feet up on the ottoman and stated..." now THIS is the life." He said, "one day, I'm going to enjoy this life", and.....we know he did just that.
He remained a good friend, and, John would make sure he was able to attend mass if he needed a ride.
That he touched so many lives is a true understatement.
We were truly blessed to have him in our lives and to call him FRIEND.
Our thoughts and condolences go out to his family.

We remember a gentleman, a good and most able counsel who gladly lent support and advice to younger lawyers privileged to learn by his fine example. He championed the cause of those seeking justice and led the charge to see the construction of a state- of-the-art court facility to properly aid in the administration of justice in our community. He was "Frank" to most of us and he will be sorely missed. May the memories of a life well-lived console those he has left behind--his devoted family, his many friends and the many colleagues so grateful for his mentoring, his leadership, and his many acts of kindness.
