Obituary of Barbara Toulouse (nee Deneau)

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dear mother Barbara Toulouse. Barbara was born on August 19th, 1945 in Windsor Ontario. She passed away peacefully with her daughters by her side on August 31st, 2024 at the age of 79.

Cherished mother of Lorian Taylor (Richard) and Kori Durham (Greg Cabana) and former Son in law Chris Durham.

Loving Nana to her grandchildren Olivia Taylor (Lucas), Grace Taylor and Kaiden Durham.

Dear sister to Paul Deneau (Late Linda), and Carol Delben (Angelo).

Barbara is now reunited with her parents Everett and Fidelis Deneau, and her beloved siblings whom she missed dearly, Everett Deneau (Late Linda), William Deneau (Alice), Rosemary Hamel (Late Jack) and Joan Horvath (Late Joe).

Predeceased by her former husband Barry Toulouse, who was the love of her life.

She was a very special “Nana Barb” to Danielle, Jeff, Barry, Graysen and Oliver, Alyssa and Chase.

Many nieces, nephews and great nieces who were all very special to her will also grieve in her loss.

Barbara worked for many years in the office of Dr. Steve Tschen and was employed with Zellers in her retirement. She was a long time resident of Eastgate Estates where she had many good friends. She spent her final year as a resident of The Villages of Aspen Lakes where she was well loved. She enjoyed spending time in nature and in the days when she was physically able you would find her working in her beautiful gardens from the time the sun came up and into the night.

Our mother lived her life humbly, sharing her compassion and kindness with everyone she met. She was always there to lend her hand, whether it was a person in need or an animal who needed care. Her nurturing hands and warm heart were always ready to help and her door was always open. She loved God’s little creatures and possessed an amazing gift for being able to take care of the little things that couldn’t take care of themselves. This is her legacy that we will cherish and in her memory we will strive to live by her example.

She loved her family beyond measure and we will forever carry her with us in our hearts, our beloved Mother, Nana, Sister, Aunt and Friend.

And when we need to find comfort we know where she will be, we’ll find her in the garden toiling happily amidst the butterflies the flowers and the trees.
