Obituary of Douglas Johnson

It is with broken hearts we announce the passing of Douglas Johnson on August 26, 2024 at the age of 65 after a courageous battle with cancer. He leaves behind his high school sweetheart, Claire Johnson (nee Roy) of 39yrs and his cherished sons Ryan (Desiree) and Kyle (Alicia). Devoted Grandpa to Jade, Karter, Kaius, Penelope and Chloe. Survived by brother Dennis (Debbie) Johnson. Dear brother in law to Adrienne (Richard) Kennedy, Andre (Marilyn) Roy, Antoinette Mercier, late Angela (late Roland) Remillard. Francois Roy, Jeanne (Bob) Lypka, Greg (Donna) Roy, Jerome (Kathy) Roy, and Carmelle (Jeff) Soulliere. Predeceased by parents Neil and Kathleen Johnson, son in law to Etienne and Claire Roy. Brother to Ricky (1958). He will be missed by many nieces, nephews, extend family and friends, as well as his fur babies Billy, Cooper, Oakley, and Sadie. Doug worked as a dedicated journeyman carpenter with Carpenters Local #494 and GECDSB for over 45 years. Doug was known for his expertise, skill and wealth of knowledge. He was respected by his peers, and they will miss his smile. Doug’s life passions were his garage, his mini bikes, camping at the dragstrip with family, cherishing his time spent with his two sons and grandchildren. As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to a charity of your choice in Doug's honour. Visitation will be held at Windsor Chapel - Banwell Chapel (11677 Tecumseh Rd E) on Thursday, August 29, 2024 from 2pm to 5pm and 7pm to 9pm.
