Obituary of Madeleine Victoria Mekis

It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Madeleine on August 18, 2024. Reunited with her loving husband of 38 years, Silvano. Predeceased by husband Victor Dal Broi. Adored mom to Sofia and husband Eugene Cipparone. Much loved nonna of Allegra, Amalia and Aura. Predeceased by her siblings the late Jeanette (late Yvan) Gnutov and Walter (Laurette) Lienert. Much loved cousin to the late Franko and surviving wife Janet Ritosa, Milia and husband Joe Tomljenovic and the late Franca Ritossa and husband Jim Lavin and the late Paolo and surviving wife Irene Ritossa. She will also be missed by many nieces, nephews and other extended family in Quebec and Europe. Madeleine is retired from her much-loved position as the Research Ethics Coordinator at the University of Windsor. She enjoyed spending time with her daughter, grand-daughters and cousins on their various day outings. Visitation will be held at WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME (Banwell Chapel) 519-253-7234, 11677 Tecumseh Rd. East on Wednesday, August 21, 2024 from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. On Thursday, August 22, 2024 visitation will continue from 10:30 a.m. until time of service at 11:30 a.m. Cremation to follow. In memory of Madeleine, donations may be made to Alzheimer’s Society or Second Chance Ministry of Windsor.
