It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Vinko, a loving Husband, Father and "Didi", on August 13, 2024 at the age of 85. Beloved husband to Dragica (nee Zivcic) with whom he celebrated 59 years of blessed marriage. Loving and devoted father to Ivan Matic and wife Chau Minh Tu, Frank Matic and wife Chantal, Tina McMullen and husband Brad; all of Windsor. Cherished "Didi" to Ben, Leah, and James. Vinko is predeceased by parents Franjo and Marija Matic and siblings Milan Matic, Katica Filipcic and Marko Matic. Adored brother in-law to Jelena Drazenovic and late husband Franjo. Dear cousin to Danica Kalic and late husband Pave, late Zorka Despenic and husband Stjepan, Vinko Paulic and wife Jelena. Survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews in Canada, Croatia, Australia and Switzerland. He was a retired employee of General Motors Canada after many years of dedicated service. Vinko was a devoted family man who was very proud of his children's accomplishments, and especially those of his grandchildren who were everything to him. He will be remembered for being a talented handyman, especially when it came to his carpentry skills. Vinko enjoyed constructing and playing his own wooden musical instruments at his home which included the violin, tamburica and the mandolin..Visitation at WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME (Central Chapel) 1700 Tecumseh Rd. E. 519.253.7234 on Tuesday, August 20, 2024 from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Parish Prayers Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Service on Wednesday, August 21, 2024 at 9:45 a.m. from the funeral home then to St. Francis of Assisi Croatian Church for Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment to follow at Windsor Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
