Obituary of Joyce Anne St. Pierre (nee Garrod)

Born in Windsor, Ontario to the late Julia (1978) and Stanley (1978) Garrod. Lifelong residence of Windsor, Essex and Tecumseh. A devout practising catholic, who volunteered her spare time for her parish, St. Anne’s Church in Tecumseh. It is with heavy hearts we share with you, the passing of the matriarch of our family at 91 years of age. Wife, mother, sister, aunt and grandmother (5 time 5th generation grandmother). Joyce was surrounded by family in death as she was in life. Joyce was predeceased by her loving husband Roland St. Pierre (2015). She leaves behind their seven children, Claudette Meloche (Randy) Leamington, ON; Claire-Marie Peach Mulder (Randy) Tecumseh, ON; Rochelle Matwechuk, Kelowna, BC; Catherine Kelly(Gerry Girard); Jeannine Falzon(Dave)Windsor, ON; Daniel St. Pierre, LaSalle, ON; and Bernadette Bourdeau(Leonard), Windsor, ON. Also leaves behind her sister Delia Loebach and Winnie Brown(Cecil). Joyce is predeceased by brothers Irwin, Grant, Walter, Wesley and sisters Regina, Helen and Rose. Joyce was very proud grandmother to Roger(Cristina), Randy, Robert and Russell Meloche, Lauren Peach Lanoue(Greg), Colin Peach(Connie Mero), Austin Peach(Caitlyne Bekaan), Justin and Elise Matwechuk, Felicia Kelly(Cory), Travis St.Pierre(Renée), Pauline Todesco(Steve), Eric St. Pierre(Brandi). Great-grandmother to 17. Joyce leaves countless nieces and nephews. She was an R.N at Hotel Dieu Hospital who retired to raise her family in the catholic faith. Later became a cook for L’Académie Ste. Cecile. She was a member of the C.W.L , sang in her church choir, was an avid reader and was a bowler on two leagues for many years. She loved doing her jigsaw puzzles and variety puzzle books. Joyce loved her dogs Spunky, Star and Toby. The home Roland built was her one and only home until our good Lord called her up to be part of his home, in the Kingdom of Heaven. “As I write my beautiful mothers obituary on this sunny summer day, I am grateful to have had the privilege of caring for her in her last year of life.”
