Obituary of Maria Rosa Belcastro

With saddened hearts the family of Maria Rosa Belcastro announce her passing on Thursday, July 25, 2024 at the age of 93. Loving wife of the late Rosario Belcastro. Devoted mother of Salvatore (Rosa), Domenico (Pamela Jimenez) and daughter-in-law Pina Palazzi. Cherished grandmother of Rino (Antonella), Enzo (Pina), Peter (Amanda) and great grandmother of Aiden, Lucas, Maximo and Matteo. Dear sister of Rosaria Verardi and sisters-in-law of Assunta Belcastro and Teresa Belcastro. Maria Rosa will be deeply missed by many nieces and nephews from Canada, Italy, Belgium and Michigan. She is predeceased by her daughter Teresa Belcastro, her grand daughter Rosanna Belcastro, and her siblings Giovanni Belcastro (Caterina), Giulia Fratto (Salvatore), Salvatore Belcastro, Francesco Belcastro and brother-in-law Francesco Verardi. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the outstanding teams at Extendicare Tecumseh and Windsor Regional Hospital for their compassionate and exceptional care, as well as the management and residents at Palazzo Italia. Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, July 31, 2024 at Windsor Chapel Funeral Home - Central Chapel (1700 Tecumseh Rd. E. 519-253-7234) from 2-5pm and 7-9pm with parish prayers at 7:30pm. Visitation will continue at the funeral home on Thursday, August 1, 2024 from 9am and then processing to Our Lady of Assumption Church for a mass of Christian burial at 11am. Entombment to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Garden. Donations in Maria Rosa’s memory can be made to Transition to Betterness.
