Obituary of John Hromi

It is with tear stained eyes that the family of John Hromi announce his passing, on July 26, 2024 at the age of 91.

He leaves behind his beloved wife of 66 years, Irene and his loving sons Robert and Joseph (Michele). Cherished Cedo to Brittany, Brandon and Marie.

Predeceased by his parents John and Mary Hromi as well as his in laws Emil and Albina Boron. Brother of the late Margaret in Slovakia. Brother in law of the late Peter and Vera/Carol Boron, Steven and Margaret Vrabel. John will be fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews and cousins in Windsor, U.S.A and Slovakia.

John dedicated over 30 years of his life to working at Canadian Bridge and finished his working career at Valco. After recovering from a stroke at the age of 60, John enjoyed a long, healthy retirement. In retirement Dad’s fishing pole was his best friend, he enjoyed bike rides around the city and just sitting on the front porch with a cold beer.

Visitation will be held at Windsor Chapel Funeral Home (South Chapel), 3048 Dougall Avenue (519-253-7236) on Wednesday, July 31^st, 2024 from 2pm-4pm & 6pm-8pm. Parish prayers will be held at 6:30pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Most Precious Blood (1947 Meldrum Rd, Windsor) on Thursday, August 1^st, 2024 at 10am. Interment to follow at Heavenly Rest Cemetery.
