Obituary of Pierino "Peter" Forte

It is with broken hearts we announce the passing of our precious brother Peter on Monday, May 27, 2024. Beloved son of the late Luciano and Libera Forte. Cherished and dearly loved brother and brother-in-law to Serge(Donna) and Frank(Anne) Forte. Dearest Zio to Michael(Lisa) and Christian Forte. Sweet great uncle to Lily and Elizabeth Forte. Dear cousin to Enniolate (Lidia) Minato, Danilo(Betty)Minato, Dania(late Roger) Battagello. Peter was a resident of Devonshire Seniors Residence. He was dearly loved by staff and residents and made many dear friends. He was a very special and beloved resident of the Devonshire family. He will be missed by fellow resident and dear friend Stephen. Our family is deeply grateful to the staff for the loving care, friendship and compassion shown to Peter and our family. Peter was a lifelong member of the Fogolar Furlan Club; he was very proud of his Friuli heritage. He volunteered for many years with the horticulture and maintenance department. Peter was a passionate sports fan and movie aficionado. He enjoyed his daily conversations with his brothers recalling the games and discussing the latest movies. Peter possessed a great memory for recalling, names, dates and places. Our Peter was the sweetest, kindest soul. Despite his limitations, he was always ready with a helping hand. He showed goodness in all aspects of his life. Peter taught us the true meaning of compassion, love and kindness to all. He will be dearly missed by all the lives he touched. He will be especially missed by his brothers who have been his lifelong caregivers. In remembrance of our precious brother, continue to show kindness to one other. Visitation will be held at WINDSOR CHAPEL (Central Chapel) 1700 Tecumseh Rd. E. (519-253-7234) on Thursday May 30, 2024 from 2:00 -5:00 pm and 7:00-9:00 pm. Parish Prayers at 4:30 pm. Funeral Service on Friday, May 31, 2024 at 10:15 am from the funeral home then to St. Angela Merici Church, 980 Louis Ave. for a Mass of Christian burial at 11:00 a.m.. Entombment to follow at Heavenly Rest Cemetery. In memory of Peter, donations may be made to the St. Angela Merici Church Building Fund.
