Obituary of Florence "Flossie" Mayrand

Passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of her family on Thursday, April 11th, 2024, at the age of 80 years. Survived by beloved Husband Kenneth Mayrand of 57 years. Cherished mother of Todd (Kellie) Mayrand, Brian Mayrand, and Scott (Gina Lambros) Mayrand. Adored Mémé of Nolan, Matthew, Chad, Haley, and Trevor. Loving sister of Eugene (late Betty) Pitre, Frank (Sandy) Pitre, Helen (late Bob) Cote, Rose (late Edward), and the late Larry (late Linda) Pitre. Cherished friend of Gaetane and Tony Menard. As well, survived by a close-knit family of in-laws, and numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by loving parents and in-laws, Norman and Blanche Pitre and Lawrence and Rita Mayrand.

Flossie will be deeply missed by many families and friends from McQuaby Lake, Town of Tecumseh, and Shawnee Road.

Flossie was a hairdresser in Tecumseh for over two decades, owner of Flossie’s Place of Modern Hair Fashion. She was a proud member of the Catholic Women’s League (Ste. Anne’s Parish) and devoted to her faith. She was also a member of Legion Branch 261 Ladies Auxiliary. She loved to bowl, play darts, cards, golf and any activity involving family and friends. Flossie loved to create, she was an avid sewer,  gardener, and enjoyed taking on new challenges. She enjoyed travelling with friends and family, and always left an impression with anyone she met.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Flossie’s memory to The Lung Association or The Hospice of Windsor-Essex.

A Memorial Visitation will be held at Windsor Chapel Funeral Home - Banwell Chapel (11677 Tecumseh Rd E.) 519-253-7235 on Monday, April 15th, 2024, from 2-5 pm and 7-9 pm. CWL Prayers to be held at 3 pm. Visitation will continue Tuesday at 9:30 am, until procession to Ste. Anne’s Parish for Funeral Mass at 10:30 am. Interment to follow at Ste. Anne’s Cemetery.
