Dear family of Helen. My deepest condolences to all of you on the passing of your special Mom. Helen was my work Mom for many many years as we shared an office together and what a special place that was with so many laughs and amazing talks. I witnessed first hand what an impact she had on so many of the staff as her care and compassion for them was demonstrated daily. Family always came first if people needed the time or schedule adjustments to be made and mutual respect was returned when she needed someone to fill a spot on her schedule. Bottom line I loved coming in to see her smiling face as she made the kitchen such a fun and rewarding place to work. I will always cherish the great memories I have and wish her God's blessings as she now rests in peace. Love Jo-Anne Botsford

Hello Jo-Anne. Helen always loved to talk about her days at Hotel Dieu. She was so fond of everyone she worked with and those she knew best, had a very special place in her heart. Your kind words mean so much to us. We miss her very much but know she is at peace with her Andy, family and friends by her side and with Jesus.

I had the pleasure of knowing Helen while working in dietary at Hotel Dieu from 1973-1980. She was always kind and caring and so very helpful in arranging our schedules allowing us to manage our school studies and family activities while giving us the maximum working hours. Helen was so easily approachable and personable, and such a pleasure to have known. Her smile and friendship will forever have a place in my heart as I continue to keep her and her family in my prayers.

Hello Sharon and thank you for your lovely message. In her weeks in the hospital we talked a lot about her job as a dietary clerk. She actually told a few stories about how she would arrange the students schedules and also how she would jump on the cash till when someone needed to take lunch or a break - until one of the supervisors saw what she was doing and put an end to it because she was doing a union workers job. She was always willing to help and loved all the people she worked with

I had the honour of working with Helen for 22 years at Hotel Dieu Hospital. Helen had a heart of gold and so much patience. She made her job look easy organizing every employee ‘s schedule in the dietary department and I am sure it was a stressful job at times. Helen thank you for being so thoughtful and considerate especially when I needed my schedule change which was often. Helen you were a special person. You listened when I needed you. You made me laugh when I felt sad. You held me when I cried and reassured me all would be well in time. You calmed me down when I was frustrated. You never judged me, you always understood. You made me feel important every time I walked into your office which was often because I loved our talks, your laughter and your beautiful smile. Helen thank you for all your helpful advice and guidance you helped me through many challenges. You were right all is well in time. To Helen’s family so sorry for your loss. Hello Cheryl and thank you for sharing your special memories of Helen. She was a special lady, for sure and we were all blessed in so many ways, to have her in our lives. She absolutely thought of all the people she worked with, at the hospital, as family. She cherished her time and everyone there, very deeply.

Hi Bunny....so wonderful to hear from you. Thank you for your kind words. Mom was so happy when you were able to come and spend time with Shar in her last days. Helen always thought very dearly of Sharron's closets friends and was so happy knowing the closeness and bond you had.

My deepest condolences to Randy, Carmen, Steven and Emily all the family of Helen. She was a faithful member of OLOG and I would often talk to her after Mass. A beautiful soul, May she rest in Peace.

Hello Aunt Pat. Thank you for this beautiful memory and the candle that you lit. When Helen retired the first thing she had said to me was "Now that I am retired I want to work on my faith better". She enjoyed going to Mass with aunt Pat Adam and visiting with people after Mass. She would often tell me of times when she would talk with you.
