Obituary of Umberto Pomponio
Pomponio, Umberto
Passed away peacefully with family by his side on March 14, 2024 at the age of 77. Devoted husband to Liliana Pomponio for 52 years. Beloved father to Lisa (Joe) Reia. Cherished Nonno to Zachary, Ryan and Kaylee. Son of the late Pietro and Gaetana Pomponio. Dear brother to late Domenico (Maria), Eduardo (Stella), Theresa (late Marino), late Luigi (Maria), late Angelo (Anna), Antoinetta (late Marino), late Michele (Michelina), late Remo (Nancy), Assunta (Rosato) and Aldina (Antonio).
Umberto will be greatly missed by extended family, nieces, nephews and best friend Marco Merucci.
Dad was a great man, always making sure everyone was taken care of. He was always willing to lend a hand with no expectations of anything in return. He was known for his great gardens on the neighbourhood block, always producing the greatest and brightest flowers and vegetables. When he was not in the garden, he would be out hunting; moose in particular, or watching Car Races or most specially watching his grandkids race in Go - Karting. Umberto will always be a proud and long standing member of the Ciociaro Club since 1972.
Umberto was a hard worker. He could build anything he put his mind to. Working in construction for most of his life lead to creating good friends as well. Dad always had a story to tell and knew how to make you laugh. A true jokester.
A Memorial Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 20, 2024 at Windsor Chapel - Banwell Chapel (11677 Tecumseh Rd E) from 2:00pm to 4:00pm and from 6:00pm to 8:30pm.
