Obituary of Joanne Champagne
Passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving Family at the age of 88. Proud and loving Mother of Denis (1971), Michael (2001), and Mark (Jody). Cherished and devoted Meme to Rebecca and Rachel. Reunited with her parents Edward (1972) and Mabel (1936) Ebear, and her siblings James Ebear, Vada Ristich, Marie Gelinas, Barbara Quinn and Johnny Ebear. She will be missed by many nieces and nephews. Mom shared a special bond with daughter-in-law Jody, the daughter she always wanted but never had.
Joanne (Jojo) always had a special place in her heart for long-time housemate Margery and her lifelong and very dear friend Bernice. She will also be missed by her furry friends Wrigley, Baker, Pepper and Beans. Our Mother was not always given an easy path in life to follow but she persevered through many Family tragedies, the loss of her Mother and brother at a very young age as well as the loss of two of her sons. She carried on to become a strong, independent and "feisty" woman. Known to many of our friends as "mom" or "Mrs C" she would never hesitate to open her home for friends in need of a warm and caring place to stay. Mom was always proud and supportive of her children and grandchildren, she was always in the crowd to support whatever we did.
Special thanks and gratitude to Dr. Cargill and the entire Hospice staff, the staff of Saint. Elizabeth, especially Miranda, Meagan, and Tiffany for their special care and compassion, and N.P. F. Rowley and Heather from HCCSS. Thank you, Willi NP, for fulfilling my Mother's wish. At Joanne’s request, cremation and a private family service has taken place. Arrangements entrusted to WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME - BANWELL CHAPEL, 519-253-7235. In lieu of flowers donation in memory of Joanne may be made to The Hospice of Windsor or The Downtown Mission.
