Obituary of Gaetano Piraine

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Gaetano Piraine, on March 1, 2024 surrounded by family. Gaetano was a beloved husband of Rosetta (nee Falsetta). Devoted father of Mary (Dave) and Sonia. Brother to Francesco (Camela) Piraine of Michigan, and brother in law to Francesco (Raffaelina) Falsetta of Tecumseh.

Predeceased by his parents Salvatore and Marietta Piraine (nee Tarantino), and in laws Antonio and Maria Rosaria Falsetta (nee Aquino). Brother in law to Serafina (Nicola), Rocco (Teresa). He is survived by many nieces, and nephews in Canada, Italy and the USA.

Gaetano will be remembered as a great neighbour, loving uncle, cherished cousin and friend. He would lend a helping hand to anyone who was in need.

He will also be remembered for his passion for gardening and landscaping. Taking great pride in his beautiful Tecumseh home. If he was not in the garden, you could find him watching his favourite soccer teams.

Thank you to the Doctors and staff on the 8th floor Neurology Unit at Ouellette Campus. The Palliative Care team at Hotel Dieu Grace Heath Care and His PSW’s Ron and Push from St. Elizabeth for their kindness and compassion.

Visitation will be held at Windsor Chapel - Banwell Chapel (11677 Tecumseh Rd E) on Monday, March 4, 2024 from 2 - 5pm and 7 - 9pm. Parish prayers at 4:30pm.

Friends and Family are invited to join the family at 9:15am in the funeral home to process to St. Angela Merici Church (980 Louis Ave) on Tuesday, March 5, 2024 for a mass of Christian burial at 11am.

Procession to follow to Greenlawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery (1805 ON-3, Oldcastle). Donations in Gaetano's honour would be greatly apperciated by the family to Transition to Betterness or a Charity of your choice. 

May his infectious smile live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
