Obituary of Michelle Mousseau

MOUSSEAU, Michelle Karen (nee Schenk)

February 16, 1976 - February 22, 2024

Passed away peacefully on February 22, 2024 in Windsor, ON at the age of 48 years. Loving wife of Matthew Mousseau. Cherished mother of Caleb and Isabelle. Beloved daughter of Kees and Lena Schenk of Chatham and daughter-in-law of Anne and Paul Mousseau. Loving sister of Sandra Toth of Chatham and Susan Lenko (Brendan) of Hamilton. Sister-in-law of Wesley and Melissa Mousseau of London. Michelle will also be lovingly remembered by her nieces and nephews: Jake Schenk of Edmonton, Jesse Toth of Chatham, Luke and Jordan Lenko of Hamilton, Jude and Mackenzie Mousseau of London and the late Cameron. Michelle worked as a Child and Youth Worker for the Greater Essex County District School Board since 1999, mostly at W.F. Herman High School. Along with her good friend and work partner, Kevin, She always found her work to be a rewarding and emotionally fulfilling career and she certainly impacted the lives of so many youths. Michelle was known for her love of nature; especially running, bike riding and gardening. She absolutely loved spending her time and celebrating with family and friends. She always gave of herself as well; raising funds for the CIBC Run for the Cure, Canadian Cancer Society, Make-A-Wish, and school nutrition programs. In Michelle’s own words, “My greatest joy is my family; watching my children grow into successful young adults; finding true love and having the support of my Husband Matt, through all of the ups and downs; and my many meaningful, long-lasting relationships with friends and family.” The family would like to thank Dr. Chevalier, Dr. Nasser, Dr. Aoen, and the palliative care team at the Dr. Y. Emara Centre; with special thanks to PSW Denise. As per Michelle’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Memorial Visitation will be hosted at WINDSOR CHAPEL (South) 3048 Dougall Ave, 519-253-7236 on Tuesday, February 27, 2024, from 6 - 9 pm. A memorial celebration of Michelle’s life will be taking place the next day on Wednesday, February 28, 2024, at 11 am in the chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations made to Transition to Betterness, The Teen Health Centre or a Charity of Choice, are welcomed and appreciated by the family.
