Obituary of Bruno Ginnasio
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Bruno Ginnasio on February 12, 2024.
Predeceased by parents Vincenza and Salvatore Ginnasio, brother Calogero Ginnasio, and sisters Antonina Graffagnino and Concetta Fardella. Bruno devoted 55 years to his wife, Sara Ginnasio, whom he loved very much. He was an exceptional father to Maurizio Ginnasio (Solange), Sandro Ginnasio (Ashley), and Sabrina Ginnasio (Danny). He was a loving grandfather to Alessia and Michael Ginnasio whom which will miss their Nonno dearly, and will also be greatly missed by his living sister, Rita Ginnasio, as well by many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and extended family members in Italy.
Bruno came to Windsor from Italy in 1963 at 22 years of age. His mother taught him to sew when he was just 6 years young. After studying in Italy, he became a Master custom Tailor for over 60 years. He spent some time working for a few prestigious companies but ultimately became self employed within both Canada and USA for most of his career and was known as ‘Bruno the Tailor’ by many in his community. As a proud Italian, he supported the Italian soccer team in their endeavors, and was also known as an enthusiastic Toronto Maple Leafs fan. Also a talented gardener, the Ginnasio backyard rivals the beauty of Jackson Park, but his true specialty was the rose bushes he was so proud of. Bruno had a love for his fur grandbabies, which he treated like they were his own grandchildren. Bruno’s entire life was completely devoted to his family with every ounce of his being.
We would like to express our deepest thanks to the staff at Extended Care Southwood Lakes where Bruno received additional love and care.
