Obituary of Teresa Durante

DURANTE, Teresa (nee Tedesco)

64 years.  Passed away courageously, surrounded by the love of her family on January 11, 2024 (her husband's birthday).  Beloved wife of the late Umberto (2011).  Loving mother to Anna (Gino) Piunno, Antonietta (Johnny) Vespa, the late Maria Teresa Durante (1986) and Mario Durante (Sylvia Lombardo). Cherished and Adored Nonna to Gianni, Daniel, Massimo, Matteo, Annalisa & Umberto.  Dear sister to Salvatore, Maria (Vince), Tony (Marisa), Vittoria (the late Aurelio) Congi (Italy), the late Battista Tommaso (Teresa).  Will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, family and friends in Canada, USA and Italy.  Teresa’s passion was her grandchildren “My Medicine”.  She lived to inspire her grandchildren with life lessons, family traditions and spending time with family she so dearly loved.  A special thank you to her donor (April 2019) who gave Teresa precious time to live life to the fullest;  Alice Sleiman, Anna and David Hughes;  Toronto General Hospital and all the medical staff who provided impeccable care; Dr Pignanelli, Dr Anees,  Robert Cusinato, all the staff of ProResp, especially Meaghan, Brian, Ben, Allan, the entire Hospice of Windsor Family for treating Teresa and her family and visitors with compassion and Fr Tony DelCiancio for the home and hospice blessings.  Visitation will be held at Windsor Chapel Funeral Home, 3048 Dougall Avenue (519-253-7236) on Wednesday, Jan 17th from 2-5 & 7-9 p.m.  Prayers Wednesday at 4:30 p.m.   Visitation will continue at the funeral home on Thursday, January 18, 2024 from 9:15 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. and then to St Angela Merici Church, 980 Louis Ave for Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m.  Entombment to follow at Heavenly Rest Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, donations to Hospice of Windsor & Essex County or Lung Transplant c/o University Health Network (UHN) Foundation would be appreciated by the family.  Memories and condolences can be shared at www.windsorchapel.com
