Obituary of Mary Singleton

SINGLETON, Mary (Maureen) Maureen passed away peacefully at the age of 90, on October 26, 2023, with her last days surrounded by her loving family. Beloved wife and best friend to James (2016) with whom she shared 65 years of marriage. Cherished mother to Linda and loving grandmother to James MacPherson. Reunited with her mother Mary Ann Culleton (1984) and her father James Healy (1935). Also reunited with her brothers Jim and Jackie (Scotland). Maureen leaves behind sisters Phyllis (Al 2018), Annette (Stuart 2022) and brother Tommy (Rosina). Will be missed by her many nieces and nephews in Scotland, Canada, and the United States. Maureen was born in Glasgow, Scotland in 1933 and emigrated to Canada with her husband James and daughter Linda in 1954. Maureen and James shared the most loving and fun filled life together, travelling the world and enjoying life to the fullest. Maureen worked her entire career in Michigan, retiring as an Assistant Vice President from Michigan National Bank. After retirement, Maureen and James spent Windsor in Bonita Springs Florida, sharing good times with family and many good friends made there. The family would like to thank Dr. Dave Paterson for this care and friendship to Maureen and James over the years. Also, a very heartfelt thank you to the staff and doctors at Sun Parlor Home in Leamington, for their care and compassion shown to Maureen and her family during her time there, especially in her last days. Their thoughtfulness and kindness to the family will not be forgotten. Maureen and James were member of Beachgrove Golf and Country Club for 49 years, leaving behind many friends with whom they enjoyed dinner, parties, golfing and family celebrations. At Maureen’s request, cremation has taken place. At the request of the family, donations may be made to the Hospice of Windsor and Essex County A Memorial visitation will be held at Windsor Chapel - Banwell Chapel on Wednesday, November 1, 2023 from 3 - 5pm and 7 -9 pm. Parish Prayers at 4pm. A memorial Mass will take place on Thursday, November 2, 2023 at 10:30am at Good Shepherd Parish, with a procession to Heavenly Rest Cemetery.
