Obituary of Dave Bell
In Loving Memory of Dave Bell
Dave Bell, a beloved son, father, brother and friend, unexpectedly left us on September 28th, 2023, at the age of 50 in Windsor, Ontario. He was a quiet, thoughtful soul whose presence brought joy to the lives of many.
Dave is survived by his loving parents, Claire and John Bell, his cherished children, Lochlin and Sadie Bell, his dear sister, Erin Bell and his adoring nieces and nephews, Ethan, Taylor, Morgan and Carter Reed. His memory will forever live on in the hearts of his family.
Born on June 19, 1973, in Stouffville, Ontario. His childhood was spent on Lenarthur Drive in Mississauga climbing the giant willow tree, collecting spiders in jars, playing street hockey and hide and seek for hours, riding his big wheel around the neighbourhood with his friends and spending family vacations at the cottage on Georgian Bay.
David was an avid athlete, playing hockey and baseball at a rep level, and playing high school football for his beloved Spartans. Athletics was an area where he was able to showcase his natural talent and unwavering commitment to the games he loved. His tenacity and team spirit were evident not only on the field but also in the hearts of those who had the privilege to play alongside him.
For over 27 years, Dave was a familiar and friendly face at The Keg, where he began his career at the young age of 14. Over the years, he worked tirelessly, starting as a busboy and rising through the ranks to become a manager at the two Keg locations in Windsor. His dedication to his work and his ability to lead by example were truly admirable. He talked with love and pride about his “Keg Family.”
Anyone who knew him knew his love of music, particularly the band Guns N’Roses. To his friends, Dave was affectionately known as “Guns,” a nickname that captured his larger-than-life personality and his ability to light up any room with his presence. He was a loyal and steadfast friend, always ready with a smile, a helping hand, a terrible joke and a great story to share.
Dave’s unexpected departure has left a void that can never be filled, but his memory will continue to shine brightly through his children and the countless lives he touched. He will be remembered for his love of sports, his strong work ethic, his infectious smirk, his enduring friendship and his unwavering commitment and love for his children.
Dave’s legacy will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. May he find eternal peace and may his memory be a source of comfort and inspiration to us all.
